Chapter IX. Stopping and Parking
78. Vehicles may stop or park on the right side of the road—next to the sidewalk or on the shoulder, and in their absence—at the edge of the carriageway. In the case provided for by point 81 of the Rules, parking is also permitted on the sidewalk.
79. Within built-up areas, stopping and parking on the left side of the carriageway is permitted:
on roads with one lane for movement in each direction, without tram tracks in the middle;
on one-way roads (for goods vehicles with a permissible maximum mass exceeding 3.5 t, only stopping is permitted—for loading or unloading, as well as for the boarding or alighting of passengers).
80. The placement of a vehicle is permitted in one row, parallel to the edge of the carriageway, with the exception of those places (a local widening of the carriageway) where other arrangements of vehicles are permitted by road markings. Two-wheeled vehicles without a sidecar are permitted to be parked in two rows.
81. Only passenger cars, motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles may be parked on a sidewalk bordering the carriageway, in the case of the presence of sign 6.4 "Parking place" and any one of the plates 8.6.2, 8.6.3, 8.6.6—8.6.9 "Method of placing the vehicle at the parking place".
82. Outside built-up areas, parking for the purposes of extended rest, overnight stay, etc. is permitted only in areas designated for those purposes, or outside the boundaries of the road.
83. In the case of a forced stop in a place where stopping is prohibited, after fulfilling the requirements of points 22 and 23 of the Rules, the driver must take all necessary measures to remove the vehicle from that place.
84. Stopping is prohibited:
on footways, with the exception of the cases specified in point 61, as well as on tram tracks and directly near them, if this impedes the movement of trams;
at railway crossings, in tunnels, as well as on and under flyovers, bridges, and overpasses;
at those places where the distance between the stationary vehicle and a solid line (with the exception of one indicating the edge of the carriageway), or the median strip, or the edge of the opposite side of the carriageway, or any obstacle is less than 3 m;
at pedestrian crossings and within 5 m before a pedestrian crossing in the direction of travel;
on the carriageway, close to dangerous bends in the road and to the vertical crest curves of the longitudinal profile, where the visibility of the road is less than 100 m in at least one direction;
at intersections, on the crossings of carriageways and at a distance of less than 5 m from the edge of an intersecting carriageway—with the exception of the side of a T-intersection of carriageways separated by a solid line or median strip (opposite the dead-end arm);
within the area of a public transport stop marked by road marking 1.17 or, where that marking is absent, within 15 m of a public transport stop sign or taxi-stand sign;
in places where the vehicle will not allow road users to see the signals of the traffic light, the road signs, or where it will in any other way restrict visibility for the drivers of other vehicles and for pedestrians.
85. The stopping of public transport vehicles is also prohibited outside designated public transport stops—with the exception of cases of a forced stop.
86. Parking is prohibited:
in a place where stopping is prohibited;
outside built-up areas—on the carriageway of roads marked with road sign 2.1 "Main road";
at a distance of less than 50 m from railway crossings.
